Emergency Crane Removal of Fallen Poplar Tree from Apartments
A large poplar tree had failed and fallen directly onto a block of apartments in West Didsbury, causing significant damage to the roof structure.
Due to the size of the tree and the extent of the damage already caused, the priority was to remove the tree safely without creating any further damage to the building below.
After assessing the site, a crane-assisted dismantling operation was selected as the safest and most efficient method. Sections of the tree were carefully attached to the crane and lifted clear of the roof before being lowered into a designated landing area for processing.
The restricted access, surrounding trees and proximity of neighbouring properties required careful planning and close coordination between the crane operator and climbing team throughout the operation.
By removing the tree in controlled sections, we were able to clear the damaged roof safely and efficiently, allowing repairs to begin as quickly as possible.
